3-Day Private Tour to Zhangjiajie from Guangzhou by Round-way Bullet Train

This 3-day itinerary features round-trip high-speed rail travel between Guangzhou and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Zhangjiajie. A local English-speaking guide will meet you upon arrival to facilitate visits to the region's most celebrated landmarks, such as the monumental Tianmen Mountain Gateway, the majestic Tianzi Mountain (which inspired the floating landscapes in the film Avatar), and the renowned Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge. 

Please note: guide services are provided in Zhangjiajie only; you will travel independently on the train journeys.

Day 1. Guangzhou - Zhangjiajie by train & car, visit Mt Tianmen

At 6:30am, you will be picked up from your centrally located Guangzhou hotel. You will be transferred to the railway station to catch approximately 6-hour bullet train ride to Zhangjiajie.

Upon arrival, your exploration of Tianmen Mountain begins. Access to the summit is via either a cable car or the sightseeing bus along the dramatic mountain road. Key highlights include the winding Tongtian Avenue, the majestic Tianmen Cave, the serene Tianmen Temple, the thrilling Glass Walkway, the cliff-hugging Ghost Valley Plank Road, and the summit peak, and Yunmeng Fairy Summit etc.

The descent features a spectacular conclusion: you will first take a shuttle cable car to the upper station of the Tianmen Mountain Cableway. From there, you will embark on a breathtaking ride on the world's longest passenger cableway (7,455 meters in length with a 1,518-meter vertical descent) or sightseeing bus back to the city.

Tianmen Mountain utilizes a dual-route system to manage visitor flow. Route A: Cable car ascent, sightseeing bus descent. Route B: Sightseeing bus ascent, cable car descent. The specific route will be arranged on the travel day based on real-time conditions.

Later, you will be transferred about one-hour car ride to your hotel in the Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie.

Day 2. Sightseeing in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Today, you will be transferred (approximately 1 hour) to Zhangjiajie National Park. The adventure begins with a breathtaking ascent on the glass-walled Bailong Elevator, which swiftly transports you to the Yuanjiajie summit for unparalleled cliffside views. Here, you will encounter the monumental "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain," the soaring pillar-like landscape that inspired James Cameron’s blockbuster film.

In the afternoon, continue to Tianzi Mountain, celebrated as the "Monarch of the Peak Forest." This scenic area offers spectacular panoramic vistas and is famed for its four natural wonders—most notably the ever-shifting Sea of Clouds.

Your tour concludes with a visit to the picturesque Ten-Mile Gallery, a tranquil valley adorned with stunning rock formations. For a relaxed yet immersive experience, you will enjoy a one-way ride on the electric sightseeing train.

Suspended high above the canyon floor, the transparent walkway offers awe-inspiring—and exhilarating—views directly into the depths below. This architectural marvel provides a memorable conclusion to your Zhangjiajie adventure.

Following the excursion, you will be transferred to the railway station to board the high-speed train to Guangzhou (approximately 6 hours). Upon arrival at Guangzhou South Railway Station, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the city center, where the tour concludes.
